Regular vs. Block Shifts: What's the Difference?

Understanding the difference between Regular Shifts and Block Shifts will help you choose the work that best fits your schedule.

Regular Shift:

Regular shifts are single-day opportunities. These are your typical gig shifts where the shift you pick up is for one specific day only.

Block Shift:

A block shift involves consistent work over a set number of days. When grouped together, these shifts form a block schedule.

Block shifts typically require more in-depth training from the client, as they're looking for workers who can show up consistently and commit to the full schedule.

You'll be expected to work every day that the shift is scheduled. Before picking up a block shift, please make you can commit to working each day of that shift.

How to Identify Block Shifts in the App

  • Look for a green tag labeled "Block Schedule" at the top of the shift
  • On the Schedule tab, block shifts will also appear in green
