What do I need to bring to my shift?
When working a shift through the GigWorx app, it is important to read the job description thoroughly. This will provide you with all the necessary information for your shift, including whether or not you need to bring any supplies.
It is not your responsibility to bring tools to the jobsite — our clients provide all the tools you need to complete your tasks. The shift description will state if there is anything required, such as PPE, a specific dress code, or a lifting requirement.
Construction: you are responsible for bringing your own personal protective equipment (PPE) — a hard hat, hi-vis vest, and closed-toe shoes. GigWorx reimburses you for these items, up to $10 (email a copy of your receipt to support@gigworx.com). Also consider bringing gloves, safety glasses, and appropriate outdoor clothing. We recommend checking stores like Home Depot or Lowe's for affordable PPE. Beyond PPE, bring water, sunscreen, a hat, lunch and snacks, and warm clothes depending on the weather.
Housekeeping/Hospitality: cleaning supplies are always provided — you don't need to bring your own. Some hospitality clients may require a specific dress code, so check the shift description for details.
Read the job description carefully so you're prepared for whatever job comes your way.
